  Hi,

  I’m trying to extend message-send-link.php via adding a copy to my child theme and essentially changing the button text. However I’m not having much luck.

  In the child theme I have created the following file:
  hivepress/hivepress-messages/templates/listing/view/page/message-send-link.php

  I’ve followed the path structure as it is on github…. any ideas? I’ve been at this one thing two hours 😂

  You don’t have to add the extension subfolder “hivepress-messages”, all template parts are stored in the same “hivepress” folder. But if you just want to change the button text it may be easier to use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/ instead of overriding template parts.

  Thanks for the quick response. I want to do some other customisations as well so I am trying to get this process to work & make sure I can still keep up to date with future releases.

  I’ve tried the following folder structures (within the child theme) and none of these work 🙁

  hivepress/templates/listing/view/page/message-send-link.php
templates/listing/view/page/message-send-link.php
hivepress/templates/message-send-link.php
message-send-link.php in the root of the theme…

  Mwhahaha, there’s no substitute for trial and error!! SOLVED!!

  Time to delete all my other attempts 😂😂
