Forum inside the theme

Hi!

Now that I have been using the forum here for quite a lot, I wonder if is possible to add the same to the rentaltheme: having a forum where customers can add their questions and other users can reply.

Can you please let me know if its possible to integrate this to the theme?

I found that you recommend creating a subdomain to host the forum and installing a specific plug-in for it. Now I am wondering if every time I create a subdomain I need to download the rental theme and upload it to the new site to match the design of the main domain. Could you please guide me on which one would be the best practice for this?

Yes, you can use bbPress or other forum solution (e.g. Discourse) on a subdomain. You don’t have to install RentalHive there, you can choose another theme for bbPress or customize other forum solution styles to match the main site styles. For example we’ve just launched a forum on a subdomain because hosting the forum on the HivePress website started causing performance and security issues https://community.hivepress.io/

I feel that having a subdomain with a different style than the main one looks odd, for example, your community subdomain looks very different and does not transmit trust. So, in case I want to use the theme, it is possible to install it right? Do I have to pay extra?

Sure, you can install it on a subdomain, but it has no styles specific to bbPress so some CSS tweaks may be required so the topics, replies etc. styles will match.
