  Is there a way to setup separate use roles depending on if a user is a Host or a Guest and then control what parts of the site they can access?

  It should work this way by default, if you approve at least 1 listing submitted by a user, they get the Contributor role and a host profile in WordPress/Hosts section.

  The problem I’m having is that if a user is a Renter/Subscriber, they have access to the Listing Submission page.

  What I’d like is to be able to give Hosts a login of their own where they’re immediately classified as a Host and I’d like to prevent Renters from being able to access any of the listing tools.

  The List a Property button basically means “register as a host and submit the first property” for new users (approving the first listing for a user also creates a host profile for them). If you want to make it less visible please try hiding this button with a CSS snippet https://gist.github.com/hivepress/5a86e4fbdde9e65a274d2fa09a8d0387 and add it as a menu item instead (in Appearance/Menus), currently it’s a highlighted button.
