  2 questions:

  1. What are the allowed data types for attributes for the listing sort option to work? I had them working previously, and now I can’t get any of my attributes to reappear in the sort menu. I have the box checked in the settings to appear in the list, but they aren’t showing up anymore.
  2. How do I change the default sort order?

  Can I sort a “text area” field that either contains a date or the text “Unspecified”?

  Any numeric or text type can be used for sorting, please check the Edit type of the attribute. Changing the default sorting order requires customizations in the current version, but we plan to add an option for this (at the moment listings are sorted by the publishing date or relevance if there is a search query).
