Location taxonomy page and custom fields

First of all thank you for this amazing plugin, I am impressed by the quality and fast progress of the plugin, theme and all the other extensions.

I was wondering if there are any plans to include a dedicated page for the location taxonomy both in the front-end and back-end, I would like to allow users to filter the listings inside a location by category or terms in the front-end.

I am exploring this plugin for a website which requires some extra fields for the location taxonomy.
Locations will be manually added by the admin in the back-end. Is it possible to add custom fields to the location taxonomy?
BTW, I installed the Geolocation extension but I couldn’t figure out where it stores the locations. (I will not need geolocation and radius search but I thought the location features depends on this extension).

I would love to support the above features or purchase any paid extensions for it.

    Thank you again!

Thanks, glad you like it! I plan to add a lot of features and improvements over the next few months.

This extension stores location latitudes and longitudes, there’s no taxonomy. It’s possible to add a custom drop-down field with the code customizations and link it to some taxonomy, but please note that map wouldn’t work in this case, so geolocation extension may not be required at all. I plan to add support for regions (added manually), but there’s no ETA yet.

Thank you ihor, I will keep an eye on this I am currently building a complex directory structure with entries in 30000 locations I am using a custom asp.net app for this but it is pretty basic and limited…

I have been playing around with WordPress and I tried your plugin but I am doubting WordPress now for various reasons (performance aside) it looks like I can’t build relationships between different taxonomies so if I want to have separate taxonomy for Continents / Countries / Cities and link Cities to Countries and Countries to Continents it is not doable or very complex.
On the other hand, I can build relations between Post types and taxonomies or post types, but I couldn’t figure out a way to filter entries…

Any ideas if this would be possible with HivePress down the road in the future?

Thank you for the amazing work and clean code, I appreciate your efforts.

Sure, I’ll make it as scalable as possible, I already added object cache integration (for example attributes are cached for each listing instead of querying the database) and will improve performance. There’re solutions for WordPress that make it pretty reliable, for example https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/openlitespeed-wordpress Can’t say for sure how many listings it can handle at the moment, I’ll test performance as soon as I integrate caching with every extension.

Thank you ihor I am pretty psyched about this project. I will keep an eye and try to support as well.

Let me know if you are available for custom development.

Thank you again and I wish you a Happy and Successful 2020!
