  I’m wondering if messages will be fixed in the next update (will it be like Buddypress, which is live instant messaging with no page refreshing)? Will web notifications be added when users receive messages?

  Yes, this will most likely be added to the next update (sent messages will be displayed without refreshing), can’t say for sure about web notifications, but I added your suggestion to the project backlog and we’ll check this – thanks!

  Sorry, it’s not available yet, but we still plan to implement this. We’ll implement this on the core HivePress level, so this will allow adding features like instant messaging and filtering listings without a page refresh.
