    Hi,

I have one parent category and two subcategories. There is 53 listings in subcategory 1, but none in Subcategory 2 yet.
There is doubled amount on the top of the Parent Category screen – 106 Listings.

Please try to resave one of listings in subcategory to refresh cache

No change. I tried some changes and it seems to be result of checking both – parent and child category for all listings. The result is sum of both checked categories – parent a child together – it means doubled.

So what is the standard? Should I check only child category without checking the parent category for listing?

I could not reproduce this issue locally, if you are familiar with PHP please try checking/logging this function locally https://github.com/hivepress/hivepress/blob/master/includes/components/class-listing.php#L356
It sets the category count if some listing is updated.

It is apparently sum of number of Parent Category Listings and number of Subcategory Listings. If Listing is checked in both, it is doubled. I’m not familiar with PHP, so I can’t find the bug.

Please do not assign listings to multiple levels of the same category hierarchy, if you assign a listing to a child category it will still be found via its parent categories. It will also be counted for all parent categories.

OK, now I understand. Should I know this rule before?
