  We would like to purchase a paid plugin (membership), but once we ran into a situation where we could not set up a free plugin (Paid Listings), although we set everything up according to the instructions. Can we be sure that we can set up the membership plugin and connect to the payment system?

  Please try following the Paid Listings docs, if any of WooCommerce payment gateways are available in your country then it should work. The Memberships extension also uses WooCommerce payment gateways.
