User Cannot See Messages

    I have a user reporting that he received a message notication email but he has no “Messages” link available to him in his account. The only options he has in the dialog box are Listings, Settings, and Sign Out. Any suggestions on what could cause this?

    This link may be hidden if the message storage is disabled in HivePress/Settings/Messages, in this case messages are sent via email only (like with a simple contact form), no messages are stored in the website database.


    Yevhen, I have my message settings set to store for 365 days, so he should be able to see them. I logged in with my basic user account and I can see it just fine. Could there be another reason why only he cannot see the link to his messages?

    If the “Store messages in the database” checkbox is checked and user has at least 1 message then the My Account/Messages section should be available. It may be hidden if there are caching issues or conflict with a third-party plugin – you can try disabling third-party plugins to check this.
