I am new to Hivepress and I love it, it has many options and possibilities and I think I have not yet discovered all of them.
One of my questions is if you can have two types of registered users, one that can only see the ads or lists and another type of user that is the one that comes as a seller.
I say this because if a user wants to chat with a seller, this user has to register. And all users are treated the same. I would like to have these two types of users and then be able to treat them differently with email marketing
I don’t know if I was completely clear in my question
Thanks, I’m glad it’s useful!
There’s no difference between users at the moment, but if user has at least one approved listing then a vendor profile is created in WordPress/Vendors section. I planned to add a different role to users as soon as the vendor profile is added, would this work for your email marketing solution?
I am not sure, the roles that I look for in the profile, is something like, people who are only readers of ads and on the other hand, people, who under subscription, can read and publish.
By approving a listing you basically allow a user to become a vendor, so it’s like a vendor registration (if you reject a listing then vendor profile will not be created). The only issue is that email marketing plugins can’t differentiate users now since they have the same WordPress role, but I’ll check if it’s possible to resolve this.
I also wanted to ask you if it is possible to do dimensioned searches at a distance. for example, that they are less than 25 km from where I am now.
Sure, if you installed Geolocation extension you can set the search radius in HivePress/Settings/Listings/Geolocation section (it’s set to 15km by default).
I have seen that you have this option by default, but I mean that the users themselves decide what is the distance limit from their home. Thanks in advancecondorito4 months, 4 weeks ago
I agree that letting the user choose is search radius would be a nice-to-have feature.
Just like on this page (view it on mobile), when you hit the “near me” button, you have a slider for that.
For the record, this site is based on ListingPro, but this solution is badly maintained and rather buggy otherwise.
